New FAANP Inductee: Shelagh Brown Larson, DNP, APRN, WHNP-bc, NCMP

We want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the enormous accomplishment of one of our Acclaim providers, Dr. Shelagh Brown Larson, DNP, APRN, WHNP-bc, NCMP, who was recently inducted into The Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) on June 22, 2023. Dr. Larson is the first and only inductee into the FAANP at Acclaim Multi-Specialty Group.

The Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) are selected based on their outstanding contributions to clinical practice, research, education, or policy. This is an amazing feat to accomplish, and we are proud to have Dr. Larson as one of our valued team members.

Shelagh Larson, DNP, APRN, WHNP-bc, NCMP of Fort Worth, Texas, is a board-certified women’s health NP, nationally certified menopause provider, and International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health Fellow. Dr. Larson is an Acclaim Multi-Specialty Group provider and founded the Acclaim Advanced Practice Provider Council and Menopause and Sexual Health Clinic. She is educating thousands of refugee women and asylum seekers in Texas about healthcare in the U.S. Dr. Larson is the past Executive Board of Texas NP and NPWH as secretary for both. She is the current AANP North Texas State Liaison. She is responsible for over 70 podium presentations at national conferences and has published widely in journals and textbooks. She is the 2021 TNP President's Awardee and the Acclaim APP of the Quarter.
